Andrew started as a software engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California developing scalable data systems to support scientific research carried out by NASA and other branches of the U.S. Government – including the NSF, NIH, and DARPA. He was instrumental in developing a data search and visualization tool for telemetry from the mars rover "Curiosity" that scaled to billions of data points while maintaining a highly interactive, browser-based UI. He's a member of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), and was a mentor to the Spark project as it transitioned from the Berkeley AMP Lab to the ASF. Andrew has had work published in a variety of academic journals and has a long-standing passion for connecting people with data in meaningful ways to enable better decision making. He is currently CTO of Pogoseat, a live events startup based in Venice, California.
